Scarlett Johansson has been re-shooting scenes for her latest movie, Under The Skin. In this story, she plays an alien who seduces men and then steals their body parts. The film is directed by Jonathan Glazer and is based on the book by Dutch author Michael Faber. This book was released in 2000 and is the story of an alien in human form, who comes to Earth to pick up hitchhikers and uses them for meat. Most of the film was actually shot last year, however re-shoots are taking place at the moment in Glasgow.
Scarlett has been spotted shooting one particular scene where she is dressed down in jeans and a fur coat. She is wearing a black wig in the style of a bob, which definitely looks very different to her usual style. Those who have a copy of Faber’s book on their coffee table, which they read in between playing games of bingo on Binguez.es and eating dinner, will no doubt be looking forward to when this film comes out. In the Glasgow scene, she was seen falling over, which is apparently a ploy by her character to lure men to her.
Scarlett told Variety earlier this year, that she does “play an alien who is wearing my own skin. But it’s actually not a science-fiction film; it’s sort of a film that asks existential questions and much more complex than the logline.” So it looks as though there is a lot more to this film than meets the eye. In the particular scene that we have been talking about, she was apparently seen walking along the street in high heels, before taking a violent tumble. Men then began to crowd around her to check she was okay, which is just what the alien character wants. The film does not have an official release date as yet, however it is expected to be soon.
